a simple trick to write memorable endings


Something I do all the time with my content on LinkedIn and something you'll see top creators on the platform do to make people remember their content.

This is important, because most people who read content online completely forget what they just read about 5 minutes later.

But most creators spend little or no time at all on a memorable ending.

Look at this:

This is a screenshot of the ending of a post I put out on LinkedIn.

One of the most common reminders I find myself advising clients is this:

End your post by summarising it in 5-10 words.

The reason I practice and advise this is because people quickly forget what the main point of a post is by the time they go from top to bottom.

So if you don't remind them what the whole point of the post is, then they will forget.

And you're making it harder for the reader to remember by letting them figure it out themselves.

You'll find when you do this you get more comments because people can easily say 'yay' or 'nay', as you're making it so easy to align with or oppose your point of view.

It's clear and obvious.

So the next time you write a post, don't forget:

End your post by summarising it in 5-10 words.

I put podcasts on 1.5x speed when I run. I like to keep fit and healthy and I'm challenging myself to hit 100 runs in 2024. So I run about 3 x per week. But every time I run, I listen to a podcast and I put it on 1.5x speed. Why? Because time is of the essence.
