how to save 275 mins/week writing content

One of the biggest mistakes people make is spending too long writing content.

I've worked with 50+ founders and solopreneurs and the majority of them take at least 1 hour to write up a single post.

Some even 2-3 hours.

That's an insane amount of time.

It's not ideal because if you do some quick math:

2 hours per post.

5 posts per week.

5 x 2 = 10 hours per week writing posts.

10 hours!

That's 40 hours a month writing content.

Don't get me wrong I'm a huge believer in the power of content. I've built my whole business on a content-first approach. I drive £100,000s every year with content and so do my clients.

But if you're spending this amount of time on content, you're losing time on:

- Sales activities

- Marketing activities

- Client work activities

All things that earn you more money either now or in the long run.

In other words, you're losing out on money making opportunities by spending too much time writing content.

Explain how to avoid making the mistake

It's easily avoided.

All you need to do is use templates.

1. Take a post that worked well

2. Strip it down to it's bare bones

3. Use it as a template for future posts

4. Write in different topics and ideas

This way you already have 50% or more of the post already written.

You just drop in the new ideas that come to your head.

Show what happens if you do things the right way

And if you add ChatGPT into the mix?

Then you can whip up posts in 5 minutes. No joke.

Check this message I got:

The reason this founder was able to do this is because they're signed up to 15 Minute Content.

Every Monday and Thursday, they get a new template fired into their inbox.

All the work done for them.

Plus a full breakdown of why the copy works, so they don't just copy and paste the template but they become a better social copywriter for their business.

Assuming they were spending 1 hour per post before, they're saving 55 minutes per post.

Multiply that by 5...

275 minutes saved per week!

From 5 hours per week writing content -> 25 minutes per week.

It's £19/month.

Works out at less than £5/week.

If I could save almost 5 hours per week, I could add another client to my roster for £3k/month.

Could you do the same?

Just a thought...

My calendar is notoriously empty. Mainly because I understand the capacity of my energy, so I don't overdo it. And it keeps me in good spirits throughout the week. No joke, this is my calendar for next week: I'm sure more life things will pop up. But no calls, no overload of work, tons of free time to enjoy living in a country with the best beaches in the world. If I didn't protect energy like this, I'd be all over the place. Few months ago I discovered this app - Waze. It's unreal. no i'm not sponsored by waze. It's a Google Maps sat nav style app. Put your destination in and get the directions. Simple. (plus the little smiley logo is great) Except on Waze, people can upload incidents/things they come across on the road. e.g. if there's a speed camera van, you can click a button on the app and mark your position with a Police logo. Now anyone driving on that road knows there's a speed camera there. I'm not a...

I put podcasts on 1.5x speed when I run. I like to keep fit and healthy and I'm challenging myself to hit 100 runs in 2024. So I run about 3 x per week. But every time I run, I listen to a podcast and I put it on 1.5x speed. Why? Because time is of the essence. If I'm out running for 27-38 minutes and the podcast I'm listening to is 63 minutes long, I wanna be finishing it or at least listening to the bulk of it. So when I get home I can enjoy time at home with my wife. The same logic applies...
